Through our Saybrook Consulting Services arm, we provide advisory services to clients either for a number of business areas:

Business Transformation and turnaround:

  • Providing services to businesses in need of transformation, whether it a needed change in strategic direction driven by changes in the marketplace, need for a new leadership team or structure, identification of strategic partners to drive growth. Many middle market companies do not have the support to translate initial successes into long-term growth strategies, we have provided these services to emerging companies for 20 years.

Capital Structure & Fundraising:

  • An examination of a better capital structure for a business and assisting clients in raising funds needed to support the business. Not only have we raised $300 million as part of the PE Opportunity Funds, we raised $130 million for an supply chain real estate / infrastructure project and launched a startup by raising $1.3 million in seed money.

    Strategic Planning:

  • We have spent a significant amount of years (collectively 75+) in helping businesses to analyze marketplace demand, direction and developing strategies in support of setting a strategic plan that meets the goals of the business and their shareholders.

    Restructuring Services:

  • We have extensive experience in assisting in the restructure of struggling businesses, including bankruptcy, helping to preserve investors capital and move the business forward with a more successful structure. Examples of past engagements include the restructuring of United Airlines in [20xx] and the restructuring of Pacific Gas in [20xx].

    Systems Analysis and Implementation:

  • Extensive experience in the analysis of the management and external reporting requirements and designing and implementing ERP systems that support business needs. Experience includes SAP, Island Pacific (Retail), Point of Sales systems and systems supporting Ecommerce sites. Dan Pimentel implemented a global SAP platform for Discovery Communications, Inc just prior to listing their shares on the public market. Also lead projects in fixing Island Pacific retail systems to better support the Disney Stores, Inc. business.

Process Re-engineerinG:

  • We have performed extensive analysis of business processes for our PE Portfolio Companies and for companies we have been involved with in the past. These efforts included review of existing operational and back of house procedures and in conjunction with the goals of the business, provided a road map for fixing less than ideal processes and operational structure, including where the business should invest capital in support future growth and the strategic direction of the business and driving efficiencies. Past engagement include the restructuring of United Airlines, operational reviews of Finance, IT and Operations at Disney Stores, Inc. as it related to financial aspects of the business and a global Finance organizational review at Discovery Communication, Inc.

    Industry Focus:

  • While the team predominately has experience in retail and supply chain / logistics, including traditional mall based retail along with ecommerce and consumer products licensing platforms. we also have experience in the airline industry, sea port infrastructure, technology, SAAS models, baked goods, interactive gaming, publishing and cable networks (including Streaming).
